What is Mesotherapy?
With Mesotherapy treatments, multiple injections of small amounts of medication, filler, antioxidant, mineral or amino acid are applied directly to the treatment area into a superficial layer under the skin called “mesoderm”. What compounds are used are determined by the condition of the area to be treated.
How does Meso Cellulite Reduction work?
Mesotherapy applied to the affected area improves the circulation and dissolves the excessive bulging fat that causes unevenness of the skin. The dissolved fat gets flushed out of the body through the kidneys. With Mesotherapy “dimples” are resolved and the skin once again has a smooth appearance. The treatment usually involves 10 sessions or until the desired effect is achieved. Each treatment lasts only a few minutes. Mild bruising of the skin may take place due to skin pricking but this will be resolved in a few days. There is no down time.
How does Meso Spot Weight Loss (body sculpting) work?
Mesotherapy is also a non-surgical alternative to liposuction and is not an invasive procedure. Saddle bags, love handles, hips, waist line, arms, double chin, and bags under the eyes can all be sculpted with mesotherapy. The medications that are used in Mesotherapy melt the fat beneath the skin and shrink the fat cells in the scarpus fascia layer. The fat dissolves and, as occurs when fat is broken down during typical weight loss is carried through the bloodstream and excreted by the kidneys and the bowel.
All patients undergoing Mesotherapy will be asked to follow a natural healthy diet, which will be easy to follow. Because toxins are eliminated, lots of water is used to clear substances, along with dissolved fat, out of the body. Exercise is needed to circulate the medications used, with either walking or another form of aerobic activity, three times a week.
Who is the candidate for mesotherapy
Adults between the ages of 18-75 and in good health are candidates for Mesotherapy. Patients who are pregnant, on blood thinners, are insulin-dependent diabetics, on medication for heart arrhythmias, have severe heart disease or have cancer are not candidates for cosmetic mesotherapy.
What is Carboxy therapy?
How is Carboxy therapy performed?
It is a non surgical method. Carbon dioxide (CO2) is infiltrated into the subcutaneous tissue through a tiny 30G needle. From the injection point, the carbon dioxide diffuses easily into adjacent tissues.
How does the carbon dioxide work?
Carboxy therapy works in two complimentary ways. Firstly, carbon dioxide mechanically kills fat cells. Secondly, it also has a strong vasodilating effect (causes blood vessels to dilate) on the capillaries in the area. Wider vessels mean bigger and stronger blood flow to the area, which means more oxygen and nutrient and remove toxin. The increase in oxygen is important because it eliminates the built up fluid from between the cells. The end result is fewer fat cells and greater firmness.
How many sessions before I see an improvement?
After the 3rd-5th session you will see that your skin looks noticeably healthier. Around the 8-10 session mark, you will appreciate that your subcutaneous tissue is firmer. Before the treatment program ends you will have firmer, cellulite lessen to free and stretch mark lessen to free.
Is it painful?
Not really. Some patients can experience a light tingling and tightening sensation near the injection site. It disappears within a few minutes. As a result of the increased circulation, the area surrounding the injection site may feel warmer and red for 10 to 20 minutes.
What should I avoid after treatment?
Avoid emerging in water for 4 hours after the treatment such as baths, swimming, or saunas.
How many sessions are necessary?
Between 5-20 sessions are necessary to eliminate cellulite. Ideally they should be carried out every other day, although sometimes two or even one session per week will be enough. This will depend on the extent of your cellulite. Each session lasts between 10 to 15 minutes.
How long do the benefits last?
This depends entirely on you. If you choose to follow a healthy diet complemented by regular exercise, the cellulite can stay away for years. If you tend to succumb to culinary temptations and never quite find the time for that 10km run, the cellulite will return much quicker. On average, it’ll be 5 to 6 months before you see it starting to creep back in. It’s best to nip it in the bud at this stage. If you’re vigilant, 3 to 5 sessions will get you back to smooth firmer skin.
Isn’t carbon dioxide toxic?
No. Carbon dioxide is naturally produced by the cells in our bodies every day of our lives. It is a by product of metabolism. It is transported in the blood and exhaled through the lungs. In a study done published in the Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Journal, no important side effects were linked to CO2 treatment. The study found that CO2 therapy is a safe therapy with no relevant side effects. Because of its lipolytic properties and positive effect on skin elasticity, CO2 therapy could play a useful role as a complement to surgical liposuction for the treatment of persistent skin irregularity.
